Qlipt is a video-creation app ("Qlipt", "we"). This policy explains what information the app handles and where it goes. The short version: your video files stay on your phone, the text you write is processed by AI services to power the app's features (only after you agree), an account is optional, we don't show ads, and we never sell your data.
Text you write and transcripts of your recordings. When you use AI features — script generation, scene planning, graphics, or automatic edits — the app sends your prompts, scripts, text transcripts of what you say (with word timings) and short descriptions of your footage to our server so the AI can do its work.
You are asked first. Qlipt explains this in the app and asks your permission before any of this text is sent. If you do not agree, the AI features are not used and no text is sent; you can still record and edit videos on your device. You can review your choice, and turn AI features off or on, at any time under Settings → How your data is used.
Your video files never leave your device. Recording, editing, and export all happen on your phone. We do not upload, store, or have access to your video or audio files. Captions, Remove pauses and the teleprompter turn speech into text with Apple's speech recognition, which may send audio to Apple's servers to recognize it, under Apple's privacy terms. Qlipt's server never receives the audio: only the text, and only when you use an AI feature as described above.
An optional account. You can use Qlipt without an account. If you sign in — with Apple, Google, or a code sent to your email — we store your email address (for Sign in with Apple this can be a private relay address), an account identifier, your sign-in sessions, and the setup you chose (your topics and caption style) so it follows you to other devices. You can sign out or delete your account at any time in Settings → Account. Deleting your account removes from our server:
Deleting your account does not cancel a Qlipt Pro subscription. Apple keeps billing it until you cancel it in your Apple Account settings (in the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions).
Device identifier. The app creates a random identifier, kept in your device's keychain, and uses Apple's App Attest to show our server that requests come from a genuine copy of Qlipt. We use it to apply the free plan's limits and to prevent abuse.
Notifications. If you allow notifications, the app sends our server your device's notification token with a video it is making, so we can tell you when your edit is ready. The token is used for that one notification and then deleted.
Purchases. Apple handles payment; we never see your payment details. When you buy a subscription or extra videos, the app sends the transaction record Apple signs (product, dates and transaction ID) to our server so your plan works on your device and account. If you buy while signed out and then sign in, what you bought moves to your account. We also count how many videos you make with Qlipt AI each month to apply your plan.
Anonymous usage analytics. To understand how the app is used and where to improve it, Qlipt records anonymous product-interaction events — for example, that a screen was reached or that a feature succeeded or failed. These events are sent to our own server and are tied only to a random identifier generated for this install, not to your name, email, or account. They never include your content (no prompts, transcripts, filenames, or the text you write). This data is not shared with third parties. You can turn it off at any time in Settings → Share anonymous usage data.
Crash reports. If the app crashes or stops responding, technical information about it (device model, OS version, and what the app was doing) is sent to Sentry, our crash-reporting provider, so we can fix bugs. Sentry also receives counts of app sessions, so we can see how often the app crashes. None of this includes your content or your sign-in details: the app strips screen titles and other on-screen text from these reports before they are sent.
IP address. Like any server, ours sees the IP address your requests come from. We use it to protect the service from abuse, for example by limiting how many requests one network can make in an hour. Those limits keep only a count and the hour or day it covers.
Launch list (website). If you join the launch list on qlipt.app, we keep the email address you enter to tell you about Qlipt's launch, and we may invite you to try Qlipt early through Apple's TestFlight, in which case Apple emails you the invitation. We don't use it for anything else or share it with anyone else. Email us to be taken off the list.
No ad tracking. We do not use advertising SDKs and do not track you across other apps or websites.
We share information with these providers only to run Qlipt's features, only the information each one needs, and — for the AI services — only after you agree in the app. We require them to protect it to a standard at least equivalent to this policy, and the AI providers do not use it to train their models.
Anthropic (the "Claude" AI service) processes the text described above to generate scripts, scene plans, graphics descriptions, and edit decisions.
fal.ai generates graphics from short text descriptions derived from your script. It receives only those descriptions. Generated graphics and their descriptions are kept in a shared library, without any link to you, and may be reused in other people's videos.
Stock video and photo libraries, Pexels and (when Pexels has no match) Pixabay, receive short search terms derived from your script or transcript when the app finds extra shots for your video.
Cloudflare hosts our server and stores processing jobs (the text described above), accounts, and usage records.
Resend delivers sign-in codes if you choose to sign in with your email address. It receives your email address and the code.
Apple and Google confirm your identity if you choose to sign in with them; Apple also provides speech recognition, App Attest, payments and notification delivery as described above.
Sentry receives crash reports, app-hang reports and session counts as described above.
We keep processing jobs (the text described above, and the scene plans and edits made from it) for 30 days, so you can get your results and we can fix problems, and then delete them. Stock search terms and their results are cached for up to 7 days, without any link to you. We keep account and purchase records while your account is active, or as required by law. Deleting a project in the app deletes it from your device, and deleting your account in Settings deletes it from our server as described above. To ask us to delete any other data we hold about you, email us and include the approximate dates you used the app; we will delete it within 30 days.
Deleting the app removes its data from your device, except a few small items that iOS keeps in the app's keychain: the random install identifier described above and counts of the free tools you've used, so the free plan's limits still apply if you reinstall, and your sign-in, if you were signed in (sign out first to remove it).
Qlipt is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly process information from them.
If this policy changes materially, we will update the effective date above and note the change in the app's release notes.
