Qlipt Privacy Policy

Effective July 10, 2026

Qlipt is a video-creation app ("Qlipt", "we"). This policy explains what information the app handles and where it goes. The short version: your videos stay on your phone, the text you write is processed by AI services to power the app's features, we don't run accounts, we don't show ads, and we never sell your data.

Information we process

Text you write and transcripts of your recordings. When you use AI features — script generation, scene planning, or automatic edit decisions — the app sends your prompts, scripts, and text transcripts of your recordings (with word timings) plus short descriptions of your footage to our server so the AI can do its work. This text is the only user content that leaves your device.

Your videos never leave your device. Recording, transcription, editing, and export all happen locally on your phone. We do not upload, store, or have access to your video or audio files.

Crash reports. If the app crashes, technical information about the crash (device model, OS version, and what the app was doing) is sent to Sentry, our crash-reporting provider, so we can fix bugs. Crash reports do not include your content.

No accounts, no tracking. Qlipt has no sign-up. The optional name and email on the Settings screen are stored only on your device. We do not use advertising or tracking SDKs.

Services we rely on

Anthropic processes the text described above to generate scripts, scene plans, and edit decisions. Under Anthropic's API terms, this data is not used to train their models.

Cloudflare hosts our server and temporarily stores processing jobs (the text payloads above) while your edit is being generated.

Apple speech recognition converts your speech to text. This runs on your device whenever possible; in some cases audio may be processed by Apple's servers under Apple's privacy terms.

Pexels receives search queries (derived from your script) when the app fetches stock footage suggestions.

Sentry receives crash reports as described above.

Retention and deletion

Processing data (the text payloads) is retained on our server only to operate the service and improve reliability. Deleting a project in the app deletes its data from your device. To request deletion of any server-side processing data, email us and include the approximate date you used the app; we will delete it within 30 days. Deleting the app removes all local data immediately.

Children

Qlipt is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly process information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update the effective date above and note the change in the app's release notes.
